Collection: Pico Wines

Açores

Founded in 1949, Pico Wines is a co-operative of 280 grower/partners. CVIP sources grapes from every single corner of the island and, in 2004 release Frei Gigante - a pioneering light (as opposed to licoroso) white wine from Pico island’s three leading native grapes, Arinto dos Açores, Verdelho and Terreantez do Pico.  It makes a range of traditional licoroso wines too and, under the watchful eye of Bernardo Cabral who started consulting in 2017, the co-operative goes from strength to strength.  He has introduced single varietal examples of Arinto dos Açores, Verdelho and Terreantez do Pico and a 10-Year-Old Licoroso fortified wine.
