Tejo
Joana Pinhão made her name as a young winemaker at Quinta Dona Maria in the Douro. She has now returned home to Alpiarça in the Tejo region where her family has vineyards. Here, Joana has launched an ambitious project based on low yields and high potential clay loam soils. In addition to working with old vine Fernão Pires and Alicante Bouschet, in 2015 Joana has converted 4 hectares to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay; in 2019 she released the first wines. She is also working with Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Trincadeira, Bastardo, Bical, Arinto, Alvarinho, Loureiro, Avesso and Syrah.
