Collection: Horácio Simões

Setúbal

Founded in 1910 by José Carvalho Simões, Casa Agrícola Horácio Simões, is best known for its stunning range of fortified Moscatel de Setúbal and Moscatel Roxo, from the rarer pink-tinted Muscat strain.

These days, third generation winemaker Luís Camacho Simões is carving out a reputation for making among the region’s most exciting light wines.   With the benefit of heritage vineyards, Horácio Simões’ wines highlight local hero grape varieties, notably Castelão and Boal de Barreiro.

The family’s quirky, traditional cellar sets the scene for artisanal wines, made using old-fashioned techniques, with modern flair.  The winery is located just south of Lisbon Península de Setúbal.  We highly recommend paying a visit for first-hand visits of what makes Horácio Simões’ wines so special.
