Hugo Mendes 'Lisboa' Tinto

​​​​​​Mid to deep crimson. Has less of the stone-dust character of the Vinho Regional Tejo and more deep fruit, sweeter-smelling and more openly, fruitily aromatic. A cloud of dark-red fruit. The tannins are more robust, more chewy and evident on the palate, but fully balanced by the fruit core. Both more structured and more hedonistic than the elegant Tejo wine and the Castelão even though the freshness is just as important to the whole. Juicy, chewy, satisfying. (JH) JancisRobinson.com

Total destemming, fermentation with natural yeasts in a closed vat. Aged in used oak barrels for 12 months.

Serve slightly chilled 14 -16°C
