Monte Bluna Reserva Branco

Monte Bluna Reserva Branco

White | Lisboa | 2020 | 13%

The impairment and excellence of Monte Bluna wines are a consequence of the peculiarity and unique qualities of its terroir. Monte Bluna Reserva White 2020 has a deep and bright gold yellow colour. It is aromatic and layered on the palate with yellow plum and extremely elegant citrus fruit, notes of green tea and delicate hints of mint. Well-integrated oak brings sweet spice, dried fruit and brioche nuances. Chalky, flinty minerality expresses the limestone soils perfectly. Long, mouth-filling and beautifully structured; lingering acidity makes for a fresh, mineral finish.

Grape Varieties

Arinto, Vital

Wine Making

Is a blend of Arinto and Vital, being the last an extremely rare grape variety. The grapes were harvested on the same day, manually, with sorting, into small 20 kg boxes. In the winery, the grapes were picked again by hand and then de-stemmed. The crushing - passive - was the result of transport to the press, where they performed a short maceration and gentle pressing. They were fermented together at room temperature. Half of the already Arinto-Vital finished fermentation in casks and the other half migrated to casks after fermentation. French oak barrels from the Allier Forest of 400 L, 300 L and 225 L were used, with various low intensity toasting regimes. They aged in these same casks for 9 months, until bottling on the 19th of July 2020.
